From Elkhart County 4-H Fairground, Goshen, In
The fourteen or so rigs at Elkhart Campground formed up into 3 groups Friday morning and caravaned the 15 miles or so to the Elkhart County 4-H Fairground in Goshen, In. The first 4 or so all were in the full hookup area, so traveling and arriving together they were parked together.
The next two groups had only Water and Electric hookups and we split into two groups, about 15 minutes apart, but still were able to get all 10 of us parked together. We even have our own 'rabbit barn' right in front of us for our daily happy hour.
Friday night a small group of us 'commandeered' a room (after someone picked the lock) for our regular Hand and Foot game. However, it didn't take long for the 'security' guy from the staff of Escapade to become certain that we really didn't have 'Bob's' permission to be there. He was very nice about it, and we promised to behave better in the future, although he was informed he was off the brownie list.
Saturday we awoke to a drizzling rain, and I seemed to have a lot of aches just all over. My day was spent mostly in bed, just sleeping. Others just hung tight or did a little shopping. Saturday afternoon the only 'official' event involved a 'preview' of the commercial vendors from 3 - 5 pm.
Sunday, registration opened and the remainder of the attendees continued to arrive. There are over 800 rigs registered for this event, considerably larger that the one we went to last year in Sedalia, Mo.
Donna and Dortha spent some time Sunday afternoon getting the pavillion ready for our 5-7 Happy Hour today after opening ceremonies.
Opening ceremonies were from 3 to 4pm with ice cream following and free time from 5 to 7:30.
At 4:30 we started gathering up in the 'Pork Producers' Pavillion getting ready for the special Happy Hour sponsored by the 'Full-time Class of 2007' which we have been adopted by. Only Donna and Dortha were informed that Bob and Molly were bringing a special guest as a surprise. Many of the group are also followers of Howard and Linda Payne of RVDreams.com. And many of us had first become acquainted at their rally in Branson in June of 2008.

Jenny J in total shock as she greets Howard.
Donna and Molly share a really funny moment.
Howard and Linda, along with Darrell and Judy have just been 'adopted' by the Class of 2007'.
The event was extremely well attended with over 70 folks and everyone had a really great time. Lots of good food and visiting.
Most everyone attended the entertainment for tonight, a great entertainer named Johnny Counterfit. He performed a lot of old songs by some very famous singers, but he did them in the voice of the original singer. Quite a fun show as he kept the audience laughing throughout his performance.
